League Membership

A Community League Membership is an investment in our community. What do you get in return?

  • Receive $25 "Riverdale Dollars" that can be used in the following ways:
    • Spend your Riverdale Dollars in the Riverdale Exchange on any good or service where they are being accepted (*Note: this will be at the discretion of the seller).
    • Towards the cost of hall or house rentals - 20% maximum
    • Towards the cost of our Community Childcare - 20 % maximum
    • Towards the entrance fee charged at community events.
    • Towards the price of wine or beer sold at community events.
  • Free swim from October to June:
    • Downtown YMCA (Don Wheaton) on Sundays from 1 - 5 p.m.
    • Commonwealth Recreation Centre on Saturdays from 5 - 7 p.m. (includes Field House, Gymnasium, Aquatic Centre & Fitness Centre)
  • Community league events:
    • Canada Day Celebration
    • Community League Day
    • New Year’s Day Celebration
  • Maintenance of Riverdale Hall, Riverdale House, the outdoor skating rink, and rink shack.
  • Discounted Riverdale Hall rental rate.
  • Ability to rent Riverdale House for private functions.
  • Opportunity to rent a plot in the Community Garden.
  • Free subscription to The Riverdalian newsletter
  • Priority for open spots for the new Riverdale Community Childcare Centre.
  • Weekly playgroup: Wednesday mornings at the hall.
  • Badminton at Riverdale School: Wednesday evenings 7:30-9:00 p.m.
  • Soccer and summer programs for kids.
  • Indoor soccer for 3 and 4 year olds at Riverdale School: Wednesdays from 6:00-7:30 p.m.
  • Vote at league meetings and community representation before city council.
